A 23-year-old woman enjoying the sun in Boca Raton, Florida, US will definitely think twice about returning to the beach after a feisty shark bit her — and refused to let go.
The woman was said to be in a stable condition after the two-foot shark bit her, but the animal’s serrated teeth were sunk so deeply into her skin that she had to go to hospital with the animal still attached to her arm.
“I have never seen anything like it,” said Clint Tracy of Boca Raton Ocean Rescue, “[I’ve] never even heard of anything like this.”
“The shark wouldn’t give up. It was barely breathing but it wasn’t letting go of her arm, like it was stuck to her or something.”
Sadly, the shark — thought to be a common nurse shark — later died as it struggled for breath out of the water.
That’s what you get for being so clingy…;
